Board Retailers Association Welcome Letter

The Board Retailers Association (BRA) would like to welcome you to ASR. We are particularly excited about this gathering of retailers, manufacturers, and all those that love and support the board sport industry because research indicates that our market remains relatively healthy despite tough economic pressures from the outside. Based on this information, ASR will remain an action-packed, business-oriented tradeshow focused on bringing the action sports industry together for prospecting, line-showings and meetings with retailers and buyers from all over the world.
According to the Specialty Retail Survey conducted by Board-Trac, in conjunction with BRA, 52% of specialty retailers surveyed from across the country, indicate that they will be attending ASR September. The potential to reach buyers at this tradeshow is invaluable when considering the high cost associated with visiting these shops individually. In addition, a little more than 50% of board sport retailers indicate that sales are up or remain the same from comparable times in 2007 and 65% say that they expect sales to increase or remain the same for the entire year. Almost 55% of retailers said that hardgood sales were up or remained the same with demand for high performance quads, fish and SUPs increasing. With these statistics in mind, it is evident that this ASR tradeshow will be business as usual.
Be sure to visit the BRA Retail Resource Center (Booth #1345) for more information on the brand specific, sales oriented Specialty Retail Survey. The BRA Retail Resource Center will also offer internet access, educational information, show floor maps, show schedules, consultations with retail’s best industry experts and the buyer’s lounge. If you haven’t checked BRA out lately, stop by the Retail Resource Center to learn about membership opportunities for retailers, industry manufacturers and industry related groups. BRA now represents 500 specialty retailers with almost 3000 storefronts. Our non-profit has not only grown in membership but discounts and benefits as well. Most significantly, BRA has partnered with 3point5 to offer an online education program focused on board sport retail. Stop by the Retail Resource Center to sign up for the free online program or contact BRA to schedule a live demonstration. info@boardretailers.org
During the tradeshow, be sure to also explore the on-sight educational opportunities available in Meeting Rooms 5A and 5B. For a complete schedule of seminars, visit www.asr.com.
