Trestles Update

Some of you may be wondering if the U.S. Department of Fish and Game’s recent action means the Toll Road is going through our State Park. The answer is a resounding NO!
The decision by USF&G was expected for over a year, and is only one of many other permits that still need to be obtained. Here is the list of agencies that TCA must still receive approval from:
California Fish and Game San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Federal Highway Administration California Office of Historic Preservation California Department of Transportation California Coastal Commission (again) for the coastal development permit U.S. Marine Corps/U.S. Department of the Navy
This is all academic if the U.S. Secretary of Commerce upholds the California Coastal Commission’st denial, which we won this past February. THAT’S WHY IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO TAKE ACTION AND WRITE THE COMMERCE SECRETARY, EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE SO OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS.
The window of time for the public to weigh in is coming to a close on May 28. Go to www.savetrestles.org, or www.surfrider.org and you will find how easy it is to make your voice be heard. OR COPY AND PASTE THIS INTO YOUR BROWSER
